This newest city in the South of Cebu is politically subdivided into 28 barangays.  The City of Naga is also a home of large power station that is situated on a 30-hectare site.  Before it was converted as a city, it was founded as a town on June 12, 1829.  

 
This sleeping town is now emerging as one of the industrial centers in the south of Cebu.  Its government commits to provide effective and efficient delivery of the basic government services for the welfare of its constituents.

 One of the youngest churches compared to other churches in adjacent towns. San Francisco de Asis Church  is made of coral and limestone.  In addition, its exterior is still almost the same since it was built over a century ago. Like any other churches in Cebu, it also has touches of Muslim influence which shows in the mosque-type apex of the bell towers and the two towers at both sides of the church facade.
