OSLOB

With a total of 21 barangays, this peaceful town lies for about 117kms away from Cebu City.  Oslob is also a home of numerous awesome tourist attractions, magnificent diving site and several tasty delicacies.  Oslob got its name when there were two Spanish guardia civil or civil guards who asked the couple “Como se Llama esto pueblo?” that would mean in English as “What is the name of this town?”.  The couple were astounded, as they could not comprehend the question.  Since, at that time they were soaking the boiled banana with vinegar and salt they replied in unison “Tuslob” (soak), thinking that the guards were referring to what they are doing.   After hearing the word “tuslob”, the Spanish civil guards kept uttering the word with the thought that was the name of the town.  As time passed by Tuslob was then changed to Oslob.
