TALISAY CITY |

Basked in the beautiful coast of Cebu Province and is the first city located 12 kilometers away from the Southwest of Cebu City. Talisay City got its name from the Magtalisay Trees that are endemic in the municipality whilst some accounts said that it got its name from a town in Spain. In addition, it was formerly an estate or hacienda of the Augustinians and was a visita of San Nicolas. This progressive city in the Queen City of the South is renowned for its tasty “Inasal Baboy” (Roasted Pig). During American colonial period and World War II, the town of Talisay was used as a haven of colonial military forces and the center of guerilla intelligence operations. |

Sta. Teresa de Avila Parish Church | ||||||||||||||||||
It has one of the unique Greco-Roman churches not just in the Queen City of the South but as well as in the country. The structure of the church is made of coral stones and as for the facade is concerned changes have been made to emphasize more its beauty. Sta. Teresa de Avila Parish Church is situated in the barangay of Poblacion, fronting the Old City Hall. |
