Famous Cebu Festivals

Kadaugan sa Mactan
	it commemorates the braveness of Lapu-Lapu against Ferdinand Magellan who wish to occupy the island of Mactan. This is a re-enactment of how Lapu-lapu and his men defeated their foes. This is portrayed in the month of April. The event is annually re-enacted at the beach of Barangay Mactan. This is one of the major events here in Cebu, where it attracts more tourists including the locals that really draw a crowd.

Sinulog Festival
	Finally, the most awaited event of the year is just around the corner. The Sinulog buzz is in the air as bazaars have finally lined up the streets and selling everybody’s favorite goods. 	complements the other two festivals which are Sinulog and Kadaugan sa Mactan. In Mantawi festival it presents as the rediscovery of the city’s chronological event. Misa de Gallo
	When the clock strikes around 4 a.m. on December 16, Roman Catholic believers go to church and attend the Misa De Gallo mass. It is a Spanish expression, which means Midnight Mass or translated as ‘Rooster’s Mass”. It is called as such because it was told that the crowing roosters are the first witness of the birth of Jesus Christ therefore is the one to announce it
